Bojanowo is a small town in the Wielkopolska Province, through which the national road number 5, connecting Poznań and Wrocław, goes. Going through Bojanowo from the direction of Wrocław, go past a church and turn right. Then, you will notice, in the distance of ca. 150 meters, our school gate. Our school shares the area with an elementary school. The Junior High School is housed in former Prussian red-brick buidings whose history dates back to the end of the 19th century. At that time, barracks for Prussian soldiers were located here, and after the return of Bojanowo to Poland [January 17, 1920] the head of the Rawicz administrative district created here a correctional center and a camp for the poor. During the Nazi occupation, these buildings housed a concentration camp for nuns and temporarily for priests. This camp is known in history as " NONNENLAGER - SCHMUCKERT ". Nuns from 27 female religious groups were imprisoned in the camp. Between 1941 and 1945, 615 nuns and 37 priests were imprisoned in the camp. During Stalin’s dictatorship, there was a prison for women established in the buildings. At the time of the Polish People’s Republic, the building was for the use of ZOMO (Motorized Police Forces). In the 1990s, the buildings were assigned a school-related function.
Mr. Wojciech Ptasik is the principal of Junior High School in Bojanowo. In addition to performing this function, he also teaches Biology.
